Want to help promote Southeast Asian cinema to the world while developing the talents of aspiring Lao filmmakers? Make a contribution to the Luang Prabang Film Festival and let us do it for you.
While Lao people are active consumers of international media, Laos is relatively underdeveloped in terms of its own media industries. Lao people depend mostly on foreign products for entertainment across all platforms, and therefore lack their own national “voice.” Film is the most underrepresented of all media arts, with just a handful of indigenous works in existence.
Your donation to the festival can help us use film as a tool to increase media literacy in Laos, to give Lao people a voice, and to foster dialogue and understanding between Southeast Asian media makers and audiences alike. Donations also help LPFF carry out educational projects that provide young Lao people with more opportunities to learn about filmmaking.
The best way to support the festival is to attend as part of our Patrons Tours, giving you VIP access to our events with a bespoke tour package that includes a built-in donation!
If you are unable to attend this year, please click the button below to make your United States tax-deductible contribution online through the 501(c)(3) Luang Prabang Fund for Culture and Conservation. Once the funds have been received, they will issue a formal receipt for the donation.
To make a donation via check, please write “LPFF” on the info line, and mail to:
